NX reference-only components in Teamcenter
The reference-only design components that are used to create a model in NX are now visible in Teamcenter. When you have an NX assembly that contains a reference-only component, a Teamcenter relation is now created for the component when you use the Save, Save As, and Import Assembly into Teamcenter commands on the assembly. You can identify a reference-only component by the symbol alongside it in the Assembly Navigator.
In Active Workspace, the reference-only component is shown on the NX Properties tab in the Incoming Relations group for the assembly. It is not displayed in the list of components for the assembly in the Results panel as it is not a BOM item for the assembly.
In the Relations tab for the assembly, you can click Legend and select the new Reference Only Component color in the Relations section to show the reference-only component relationship.
In Teamcenter Structure Manager, you can view the reference-only component in the new Reference Only Component column. The reference-only component is shown as a reference to a BOM line but is not part of the structure of the assembly.
You can also view the reference-only component in the Relation Browser tab for the part in the Teamcenter rich client.
On the Impact Analysis tab in the Teamcenter rich client, for the Relation:Reference Only selection on the Where Referenced sub-tab, the component revision shows that the parent assembly has a relation to the reference-only component.
Why should I use it?
You can now identify and consider reference-only components when you work with assemblies in Teamcenter.
Filtering by attributes in an NX workset
You can now use attributes as filter criteria in a filter recipe for a workset. You can select an attribute that currently exists in the product to use in the filter recipe for a workset in NX. This is similar to attribute filtering in Active Workspace. The Attributes option is added in the Filter Type list in the Filter Recipe dialog box along with the existing Proximity, Volume, and Partition options. When you select Attributes, all the attributes that are available for the product in the workset are listed in the Attributes group.
In the Filter List group, when you click a recipe term in the Term column that contains attributes, the attributes that are available are visible in the Attributes group. The attributes are listed in the same order as they are in the Filter panel in Active Workspace. You can expand an attribute to display values for that attribute below it, such as different item types under the Type attribute.
If the list of values that is available for an attribute is extensive, you can click ...More at the bottom of the list to expand it. When you select a check box to select the value, it is appended to the Filter List. To search or filter through all the available attributes, in the Filter Recipe dialog box click Filter to display the Filter dialog box. The result of the filtering is displayed in the Attributes group. You can select Contains and type a partial name to get a matching list of attributes.
Click Clear Filter in the Filter Recipe dialog box to disregard filtering that is applied and show all of the available attributes again. You can further filter an attribute by value by selecting the attribute in the Attributes group and entering a value in the filter row at the top of the value listing. You can right-click on the filter value and select Clear to remove the filter results.
Date Modified
In the Attributes group, for a date attribute, such as Date Released, select the top value and then proceed down hierarchically to the month, date range, or specific date that you want to use as a filter. When you select a check box to select the value, the date selection is appended to the Filter List group.
